LIST OF SMARTPHONE PROCCESSORS YOU MUST KNOW

List of Smart Phone and Tablet
                          PROCCESSORS

Now its fact that we now multi-task our smartphone to equally perform job intended for our PC
That has been possible with the invention of microprocessors inside smartphone similar to PC.
The presence of these processors have made it possible to successively run applications on smartphone in a supersonic speed
Its no gainsaying that the latest smartphones can be compared to PC itself as they have multitasking capabilities and can do almost anything that can be done using a PC.

Most of these mobile processors started as single core processors. With the developing technology, but now we have dual core and quad core processors.
In dual core and quad core, each core works as a single processor. The number of cores a processor has dictates how much work it can process subsequently
The more the number of cores, it is easy for the system to do multitasking. Also it makes the device to smoothly run video's and games simultaneously.
Here are the lists mobile processors which are commonly used in today’s smartphone and tablets.

The Spreadtrum SC9830A is an entry-level ARM-SoC(System on a Chip) that isintended for low cost Android-based smartphones with LTE support.
It integrates a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at up to 1.7 GHz, theARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics card, anLPDDR2/3 memory controller and an LTE radio.
The CPU performance of the four Cortex-A7 cores are on par with other low-end SoCs like the MediaTek MT8389 and therefore sufficient for daily low demanding tasks like apps and surfing

     Mediatek is a Taiwanese company.It uses more cores in it's processors(like octa core,hexa core,deca core).Battery Life:
The mediatek chipsets are known to be more power draining and results in less battery life. Now they are optimizing their processors to be more power efficient but still lags behind their competetion in terms of battery life.Performance:Performance wise their processors are very good.

Due the availability of extra cores, mediatek processors can handle intensive and heavy tasks and they are very good at multi-tasking.But we can see all this practically if we have sufficient Ram.Yes more cores demand more Ram to give best performance.Heating ProblemNow coming to the heating problem.
All the processors deliver heat while performing tasks. Mediatek processors deliver more heat(more cores=more heat) than the others.Graphics:Coming to graphics,Mediatek employs Mali graphicswhich is a third party graphics vendor(So graphics architectue is different from cpu and its performance may not match with cpu).

It is really important to match the performances of cpu and gpu(graphics) so that the whole chipset performs efficiently and effectively.

Nvidia Tegra Nvidia set its foot in the emerging ARM market with the release of Tegra. It integrates the ARM architecture with a CPU (Central Processing Unit), GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) and memory unit integrated into a single chip. Some of the models in Tegra series include Tegra APX series, Tegra 6XX series and Tegra 2.

In Nov 2011, Nvidia announced the first quad core processor, Tegra 3 making it the powerful processor in the category. Tegra 3 features an additional fifth core which will be used for processing functions that require less phone power, therefore saving battery life.
The presence of multiple cores makes the processing quicker which result in smoother gaming experience. Tegra 3 is known for low power consumption and high performance for playing audio andgames.
Nvidia is now working on upgraded versions of Tegra 3 which will be named after names from super hero comic books such as Wayne(expected to be 10 times faster than Tegra 2), Grey (20 times faster than Tegra 2), Logan (50 times faster than Tegra 2) and Stark (75 times faster than Tegra 2).Nvidia Tegra processors are the best for playing games and give a decent battery life.
Samsung ExynosExynos is manufactured by Samsung based on ARM architecture. Samsung from the beginning, was well known for manufacturing processors for other manufactures which includes A4, A5, A5X processors (designed by Apple, but fabricated by Samsung) for Apple devices. With the emergence of smartphone and tablet market, Samsung decided to create its own brand of processors.

Some of the popular models are Exynos 3 single (included in Samsung Galaxy S), Exynos 4 Dual (dual core) and Exynos 4 Quad core (quad core). The latest Quad core is included in Samsung Galaxy S lll. The future versions of Samsung devices will be equipped with this processor.Samsung Exynos processors are the best for running productivity tools.
Qualcomm Snapdragon S4Qualcomm considers Snapdragonas a platform and very similar to ARM architecture. Snapdragon dubbed their product series as Scorpion.

They have gone throughS1, S2, S3 and the latest S4 series.Snapdragon is the chip of choice for Windows Phone and preferred by manufactures like HTC and Nokia.
Qualcomm’s dual core chipis highly efficient to the extent that while benchmarking, its performance stood almost equivalent to quad core. Another feature that stood out is efficient battery life which can be attributed to the chips design.
The latest series S4 introduce latest quad core technology. With quad core variant of S4 recently introduced, this processor is going to rock smartphone and tablet market.Qualcomm Snapdragon are the best for better battery lifespan and if you like playing HD movies.
Intel atom from the name itself, the processor is manufactured by Intel. It is based on X86 architecture rather than ARM system. Intel is now serious about conquering mobile device market.
The latest version of Atom processors are different from the ones seen on netbooks.
The smartphone version has improved performance speed andless power consumption. Atom processors are good in rendering web pages and playing web basedgames and videos. Recently Atom processors were made Android compatible.
With improved performance and because of recent changes, we can see more decent number of handsets in the future from their partners Motorola and Orange.Intel Atom processors are the best choice for using web based applications on Smartphones and Tablets.
